Qu’avons-nous fait de la beauté? Est-elle encore importante pour nous? Et l’harmonie, que signifie-t-elle? Ces deux concepts font-ils encore sens au 21e siècle?
 
Il me semble que personne ne lèvera plus le petit doigt pour défendre ces deux idéaux. Il semble même qu’en art visuel ils soient considérés comme dépassés, caducs, nuls et non avenus. S’en préoccuper relève d’un esprit attardé dans les méandres du passé, romantique.
 
Nous voyons la destruction graduelle de notre planète d’un œil détaché et poursuivons nos activités suicidaires avec entrain. Le veau d’or occupe l’entièreté de notre pensée… si nous en avons encore une. L’avidité et la peur dominent subconsciemment nos psychés et commandent toutes nos actions.
 
Croire que la beauté et l’harmonie sont des fondements de notre humanité, qu’elles sont précieuses et valent la peine d’être promues et défendues font de nous des dinosaures pour ceux qui fondent leur identification sur la souffrance, l’accumulation de biens et le reflet des adorateurs.



What have we done with beauty? Is it still important to us? And what does harmony mean? Do these two concepts still make sense in the 21st century?

It seems to me that no one will lift a finger to defend these two ideals. It even seems that in visual art they are considered obsolete, null and void. To worry about it is a mind delayed in the twists and turns of the past, romantic. 

We see the gradual destruction of our planet with a detached eye and continue our suicidal activities with enthusiasm. The thurst for gold occupies the entirety of our mind... if we still have one. Greed and fear subconsciously dominate our psyche and control all our actions.

Believing that beauty and harmony are the foundations of our humanity, that they are precious and worth promoting and defending makes us dinosaurs for those who base their identification on suffering, the accumulation of goods and the reflectance of worshippers.
