J’ai toujours pensé qu’une œuvre d’art est un parfait miroir de l’état d’esprit de son créateur au moment de la création de celle-ci. C’est, en quelque sorte, la transmission d’une âme. L’expérience, entre autres, de ma rencontre avec les œuvres de Jean Dubuffet et de Paul Klee lors d’expositions importantes à Montréal m’a révélé la vérité de ce fait et la puissance incroyable de cette transmission de cœur à cœur véhiculée par l’objet d’art. Cela fut confirmé nombre de fois lors de ma rencontre avec les œuvres d’artistes véritables totalement dédiés à leurs créations.
 
C’est la joie et la liberté ressenties au contact des œuvres qui sont pour moi le barème exclusif sur lequel se fonde ma reconnaissance d’une œuvre signifiante.
 
Bien entendu, la rencontre avec l’objet matériel est incomparable. Toutes les reproductions d’œuvres ne peuvent que donner une idée du sentiment ressenti lors du contact objectif.
 
Notre disponibilité à vivre une rencontre et à accueillir l’autre est aussi fondamentale pour goûter cette merveilleuse expérience.


I have always thought that a work of art is a perfect reflection of the state of mind of its creator at the time of its creation. It is, in a way, the transmission of a soul. The experience, among other things, of meeting Jean Dubuffet and Paul Klee artworks at major exhibitions in Montreal revealed to me the truth of this fact and the incredible power of this heart-to-heart transmission conveyed by the art object. This was confirmed many times when I met the works of real artists totally dedicated to their creations.
 
It is the joy and freedom felt in contact with the works that is for me the exclusive scale on which my recognition of a significant work is based.
 
Of course, the encounter with the material object is incomparable. All reproductions of works can only give an idea of the feeling felt during the objective contact.
 
Our willingness to live an encounter and welcome the other is also fundamental to enjoy this wonderful experience.
