Les textes qui accompagnent mes œuvres sur papiers se veulent de simples sentiers permettant à l’esprit d’approcher, par un biais différent, la pensée sous-tendant mes créations picturales. Ces textes n’ont pas la prétention d’expliquer mon art ou les œuvres qu’ils flanquent. Ils découlent d’impressions a posteriori et offrent un paysage subjectif dans lequel l’esprit peut se poser.
Il m'est arrivé plusieurs fois au cours des ans de ressentir le besoin d'adjoindre des mots à mes images afin d'en suggérer une lecture. Je ne veux certainement pas, par cette démarche, limiter les lectures possibles de mes images. Mais, plutôt, s'agit-il pour moi du besoin de situer plus clairement la place de ce travail dans ma démarche philosophique.
The texts that accompany my works on paper are intended to be simple paths allowing the mind to approach, by a different bias, the thought underlying my pictorial creations. These texts do not claim to explain my art in general or the works they flank. They derive from afterthoughts and offer a subjective landscape in which the mind can settle.
Several times over the years, I have felt the need to add words to my images in order to suggest a reading. I certainly do not want, by this initiative, to limit the possible readings of my images. But, rather, is it for me the need to define more clearly the place of this work in my philosophical quest.
